Production Program

Make music that works on real sound systems.

What it is

Built like a record, not a textbook.

This program is about groove, texture, restraint, and how music translates to a real sound system. You will not just learn Ableton. You learn to make tracks that work in underground DJ sets. You graduate by finishing an original track and hearing it played in a real DJ context.

Class by class

Eight classes, one focus each.

  1. Class 1

    Ableton workflow and setup

Session layout, routing, gain staging, MIDI vs audio, and building a template you'll actually use.

  2. Class 2

    Rhythm and groove design

Kick selection, groove pools, percussion programming, and the discipline of restraint.

  3. Class 3

    Bass and low-end control

Sub vs mid bass, phase, mono compatibility, and making the low end translate to a club system.

  4. Class 4

    Sound design fundamentals

Subtractive synthesis, movement through modulation, texture and noise. Practical, not nerdy.

  5. Class 5

    Arrangement for DJs

Long-form arrangement, DJ-friendly intros and outros, and energy progression that holds a floor.

  6. Class 6

    Effects and space

Reverb discipline, delay for groove, saturation for weight, and automation for life.

  7. Class 7

    Finishing and exporting

Knowing when a track is done, rough mix fundamentals, and exporting for DJs.

  8. Class 8

    Playback, critique, and revision

Your track gets played in a DJ context. Group critique and a clear revision plan.
